Professional Objective To continue building on my a career as the Captain of a large yacht.
- MCA Reg II/2 Class 1 Master Mariner (three levels above MCA Master Yacht) for commercial vessels and yachts
- 12 years experience as Captain of private and charter yachts

- MCA qualified engineer capable of fault diagnosis and rebuilding of marine diesels, a/c, refrigeration, pumps, control systems, electrical plant, water makers etc.
- 44 months and over 500,000 miles at sea; traveling worldwide (from Japan to NZ, Australia to the Red Sea, UAE to NW Europe & most places in between!).
- Captain of a range of motoryachts, private & charter up to 240' (74m). I have done several charter seasons in both the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.
- Certified Yachtmaster Practical and boat handling examiner.
- Time served hands on as a cadet and an officer in the
commercial industry (petroleum and natural gas tankers and large multi- engined
roll on, roll off ferries).

safety, ISM and engineering as well as related subjects such as meteorology,
shipping law, stability, etc.
- Fully computer literate (MS Office, Project, Quicken) and familiar with modern ARPAs and electronic navigation aids including electronic charts and integrated bridge systems.
- I created our websites and can do the same for any yacht.
- Considerable sailing experience on family and friends' yachts in the English Channel as well as several years working in sailing and windsurfing schools.

- Project Manager of 15 month, multi million Euro refit in Astilleros de Mallorca including:
- Lloyds 20 year special surveys;
- Projecty management using MS Project
- Replacement of several sections of steel and aluminium decks, entire skeg, black water tanks, chain lockers and partial tank tops, water tight doors, hull side plates, collision bulkhead etc;
- Up to 20 full time welders
- Major electrical upgrades including main switchboard, dist boards and monitoring system;

- Complete removal and refurbishment of all engine room systems;

- New navigation electronics;

- Very busy charter and private programme in the Western Mediterranean; St Tropez to Portofino, Naples, Capri and the Amalfi coast and Sardinia/ Corsica.

Temp Captain, m/y Osprey (120' ex Minesweeper, 1956) June 2001 to December 2001
- Busy season in Turkey and Greece with charters and the Owner using the yacht very frequently (both for family and corporate work), before going to Genoa, Italy
- Took the yacht out of a repair facility 2 days before the Owner arrived and kept the yacht going in less than ideal conditions for a series of charters and cruises
- Experience dealing with managers, charterers, brokers and an old wooden hulled boat! We had a crew of 7
Captain, m/y Akim (105' Baglietto designed Trident, 2000) October 1998 to March 2001
- Responsible for overseeing the completion of the yacht (after Trident went bankrupt) with construction consultant Doug Hoogs and interior designer Lauren Currell. The final 9 months in Ft Lauderdale using subcontractors we had an extended crew of up to 32 people.
- After finishing the build of the yacht we cruised the Caribbean from Florida to Venezuela (where we drydocked) with long stops at most the islands including Barbados
