Please allow me to introduce myself; I am an experienced yachting professional currently looking for a position on a large yacht.

For the last 12 years, I have been building, setting up and running yachts from 100’ - 240'. I am self motivated, loyal and trustworthy and have a proven track record of meeting and exceeding the Yacht Owner’s expectations and needs.

For more detailed information, please find my CV attached, but in brief:

  • I am one of the very limited numbers of Captains who, in addition to Unlimited Masters license STCW II/2, hold a commercial marine engineering license which is a great combination for running or building a large yacht.
  • Experience with new builds both yachting (m/y Akim) and commercial (m/t British Harrier) and warranty periods (Bella Dawn and Ellix Too)
  • Experience with overseeing large refit projects, monitoring time frame and cash flow – on Shandor we completed a 18 month refit in 14 months (in time for an Owner deadline) and managed a cashflow of up to Euro 700,000 per month
  • I have over 20 years at sea (the last 11 as megayacht Captain), over 500,000 nautical miles logged worldwide
  • I have an HND in both Marine Engineering and Nautical Science which are equivalent to a post graduate Degree level education as well as security training and good experience with ISM, including recently at full passenger ship level on m/y Rabdan
  • Experience with safe helicopter operations
  • High computer literacy including MS Project and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Management experience of a crew of 36 plus large numbers of yard workers and sub contractors
  • I have 12 years yachting (private and charter) experience in both the Mediterranean (East and West), the Caribbean and the Middle East
  • I am actively looking to commit to an Owner for the rest of my career
  • Great track record of repeat charter business and retaining crew!
  • Large number of references from Owners, managers, charterers and (interestingly) from former crew members!
  • English is obviously my native language, and I also speak Spanish, French, German and Dutch in varying degrees, but would undertake an intensive study of the language in question to ensure great communication if needed.
